Ted is a very unnerving individual who I did find myself feeling sorry for as Catriona Ward revealed more of his backstory. By that logic extended, the other character opposite her was an alt as well. And I think I have whiplash from all the twists! Sometimes my insides know things before my mind does. I know that horror is about creating and using fear Ward creates fear surrounding the abuse the characters suffer at the hands of others, but we as readers are never taught to fear DID itself.
